Celebrating Success in the UK Biology Challenge

Celebrating Success in the UK Biology Challenge

Sixteen enthusiastic Year 10 students joined more than 42,000 young biologists from across the UK in taking part in the UK Biology Challenge at the end of April.

The competition, organised by the Royal Society of Biology, encourages students to extend their biological knowledge beyond the classroom and challenges them to apply their understanding to a range of thought-provoking questions.

We were delighted to receive the results before half term and are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students. Every participant earned a certificate, with students achieving an impressive collection of awards, including three Bronze, five Silver and two Gold awards.

Particular congratulations go to Ananya Bhardwaj and Sammy Lo, who achieved Gold awards, placing them among the top 5% of all entrants nationally – an exceptional accomplishment in such a competitive field.

As an additional reward for their efforts, all participants have been awarded a year's free membership of the Royal Society of Biology.

Congratulations to the following students who represented the College in this year's challenge:

Winter Docx, Annabelle Shaw, Sophie Iley, Abbas Doctor, Ananya Bhardwaj, Emmie Shaw, Margot Matthews, Mia Smith, Aimi Hori, Emily Jones, Honor Hart, Zahra-Rose Cooke, Immy Clement, Sammy Lo, Michael Ogunruku and Max Khorshidchehr.

We are incredibly proud of their commitment, curiosity and enthusiasm for Biology, and we look forward to seeing their continued success in the future.
