Boarding to Suit Every Family

At Hockerill Anglo-European College, our boarding provision is designed to support modern family life while fostering a nurturing and academically focused environment. We offer a flexible range of boarding options—Flexi, Weekly, and Full Boarding—to suit different family routines and student needs, all underpinned by a strong sense of community, structure, and support.

Flexi Boarding

Flexi Boarding offers families the convenience of extended school days and occasional overnight stays, while students benefit from the full breadth of College life. Flexi Boarders arrive from 07:15 Monday to Saturday and can be collected between 19:30 and 21:00 Monday to Friday, or at 12:20 on Saturdays.

The Flexi day includes breakfast, lessons, co-curricular activities and clubs, supper, prep, and time in the boarding house. Students are required to stay overnight between 7 and 10 times per academic year, with additional nights available at a supplementary charge. This option offers a structured routine and the social benefits of boarding, with the flexibility busy families value.

Weekly Boarding

Our revised Weekly Boarding model provides families with greater flexibility while maintaining the consistency and benefits of boarding life. Students can now stay a minimum of three nights per week, up to the full College week from Sunday evening to Saturday lunchtime.

This option allows students to immerse themselves in the academic and co-curricular life of the College during the week, while still spending regular time at home. Weekly Boarding is ideal for families balancing work and travel commitments, or those looking to gradually transition their child into full-time boarding.

Full Boarding

Full Boarding offers a complete residential experience throughout the term. Full Boarders live at the College during term time, including exeat weekends, returning home only for half terms and holidays. This option provides continuity, independence, and full access to the academic and co-curricular programme, as well as a rich and supportive community seven days a week.

Whichever option is chosen, boarding at Hockerill is built on high standards of pastoral care, academic ambition, and personal growth—helping students to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
