Year 8 Lübeck Exchange: A Memorable Week at Hockerill

Over the past week, our Year 8 Lübeck Exchange students have been warmly welcomed by their Hockerill partners and host families, enjoying a full programme of lessons, activities, and excursions. Highlights included two exciting day trips to London and Cambridge, which gave our visitors a taste of British culture and history.

The eleven Hockerill students did a fantastic job guiding their German partners around the school, ensuring they felt at home during lessons, break times, and lunchtimes. The visiting students joined a wide range of lessons and engaged enthusiastically in all activities, gaining a fascinating insight into how school life in the UK compares with their experience in northern Germany.

A huge thank you goes to all the families who hosted and supported the exchange – your generosity and warmth helped make the week truly memorable for our German visitors. Our students are now eagerly looking forward to their own trip to Lübeck, where they will have the opportunity to experience German culture first-hand and practise plenty of German.
