Hockerill Anglo-European College Students Achieve Exceptional Outcomes at IB Diploma, with Astounding Success in the Top 40+ band

Hockerill Anglo-European College is proud to announce a strong set of International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma results which reflect both the students’ hard work and the College’s commitment to excellence.  The College’s Diploma holders achieved an average point score of 33.75.

Key highlights from the 2025 IB Diploma results:

  • 18% of students achieved over 40 points - nearly double the worldwide figure[1].    These grades are broadly equivalent to A*A*A*A* up to A*A*A*A*A* at A Level.
  • 75% of higher level papers were graded at 7, 6 or 5 (regarded as equivalent to A*-B at A level[2])

There were particular standout performances from……

Zelie Allen-Mills who achieved 44 points; Oliver Becchi, Amalia Dasgupta, Joshua Hung, Valentine Osmond and one other student gained 43 points; Wai Huen Leung scoring 42 points;  Aden Danahar, Raymond Fu, George Hales and Annabel Ovonlen being awarded 41 points; Charles Clement, Milla Duarte Louro, Anna Ganevitch, Sofia Garcia Ivica, Olivia Hick, Samuel Johnston, Sebastian Ttoffali and Sze Ching (Venus) Yip with 40 points.

A special mention must go to Aditi Banthia and Matthew Bottomley (pictured together below) both with a perfect score of 45 points, achieved by less than 1000 students worldwide per year, in recent years.

Students are holding many top offers, including from Ivy League and Russell Group institutions and will be confirming these over the next few weeks.  The College will publish details of these on A level results day.

Among the most frequently offering institutions this cycle were Exeter (39 offers), Warwick (26), Nottingham (23), King’s College London (22), Leeds (20), Bath (19), UCL (16), Durham (15), and Manchester (15). Students also received offers from LSE (5), Imperial College London (3), Cambridge (3), and Oxford (2).

This year’s cohort achieved remarkable success beyond the UK as well, gaining places at some of the world’s most prestigious institutions. In the United States, destinations include Brown University and Dartmouth College, along with offers from Purdue, Howard University, the University of Southern California, and Boston University — with several merit-based scholarships awarded. Across Europe, students are heading to IE University and Esade in Spain, and Leiden University in the Netherlands. Further afield, applications were also successful at HKU, CUHK, and NUS, highlighting the College’s truly global outlook.

The range of courses pursued spans Medicine, Law, and Engineering to Politics, Modern Languages, Art, and Game Design — a reflection of both the diverse interests and talents within the year group and the holistic, values-based education offered at Hockerill.

Alasdair Mackenzie, Principal said:
