A Spanish Adventure: Year 8 Discover the Heart of Seville

Our Year 8 students recently returned from a truly enriching trip to Seville, where they represented the values of the college and the IB learner profile with maturity and enthusiasm. Over the course of four days, students embraced new experiences and immersed themselves in Andalusian culture, history, and language.
From climbing the Cathedral’s iconic Giralda bell tower and exploring the majestic Real Alcázar, to cruising down the Guadalquivir River and visiting the awe-inspiring Metropol Parasol (Las Setas de Sevilla), students demonstrated curiosity and appreciation for the vibrant history of the city. They explored key landmarks such as the Plaza de España, the Parque de María Luisa, and the Real Maestranza bullring, learning about Seville’s unique identity at every stop.
Beyond the monuments, what truly made the trip special was the attitude of our students. They showed themselves to be open-minded, caring, inquiring and courageous global citizens—whether navigating local markets, engaging with guides in Spanish, or supporting one another throughout the journey.
A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Seguin and Mrs García for their invaluable support in running this trip—it could not have happened without their dedication and care. The trip was a wonderful success, and we are incredibly proud of how our students embodied the spirit of international-mindedness at the heart of the IB.
