Sixth Form Zimbabwe Tour 2025: A Journey of Volunteering, Learning, and Adventure

During May half term, twenty Year 12 students took part in an unforgettable tour to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Organised in partnership with the Tag Rugby Trust, the trip combined sport, service, cultural exchange, and wildlife exploration—offering a rich and rewarding experience for all involved.
Each morning, students coached Grade 4 pupils in Tag Rugby at local government schools, building their confidence and skills. The week ended with an exciting tournament involving eight teams from four schools—entirely organised and run by our students. Their leadership, teamwork, and enthusiasm left a lasting impression.
Afternoons were spent on hands-on community projects, including plastering buildings at Chada Old People’s Home, painting teacher cottages at Chadobe Primary School, and learning about sustainability at the iZeko Foundation. These efforts gave students valuable insight into the challenges and resilience of the local community.
A major highlight was the “Through the Eyes of an Elephant” experience with EleCREW, where students cared for elephants and learned about conservation and human-wildlife conflict. The trip ended with a spectacular safari at Sian Simba and cultural workshops, including drumming at Shoestrings and a visit to the iconic Victoria Falls.
We have had great student feedback:
“From teaching children to seeing wild elephants, this trip was as rewarding as it was unforgettable.” – Olivia
“I learned to adapt, lead, and contribute meaningfully.” – Noah
“A truly eye-opening and inspiring experience.” – Siyana
We are incredibly proud of our students’ compassion, leadership, and open-mindedness throughout this journey.
