  • A Celebration of the Life of Jo Barker

    There will be a celebration of the life of Jo Barker, an extraordinary woman who very sadly passed away from secondary breast cancer in December 2018 after an incredibly resilient and open struggle with cancer since her first diagnosis five years ago. Jo’s funeral was held in Penzance in December and was a beautifully intimate and personal service. With spring around the corner, it is now time to CELEBRATE Jo’s life and reflect on her legacy and the huge impact she has left on so many, not least the many students she taught and inspired throughout her long and expansive career as an English teacher. This Celebration will be held at Audley End House and Gardens, Saffron Walden (one of Jo’s favourite places to visit with her beloved Pixie) in the Great Hall at 3:00pm on March 23rd, followed by refreshments and nibbles in The Housekeeper’s Room...

  • Snow Policy

    A reminder to parents of our policy with regard to College arrangements when there is snow:  The College will remain open for those students who can safely get to College. We will always do our best to run a good academic programme within the constraints imposed by any absence of staff or students. Parents are respectfully advised to make a judgement about whether students are able to travel to College safely.  In the event of weather conditions deteriorating during the day, parents are advised that they must make a judgement about whether to collect early.  In such circumstances we would continue College for those who stay on as normal.
