Exceptional results from GCSE students at Hockerill Anglo-European College

Hockerill students are celebrating outstanding GCSE performance today.  94.3% of GCSE entries were graded between 9 and 4, with 87.1% at 9-5, and 32.7% of entries graded at 8 or 9.  Furthermore, 91.6% of students achieved at least 5 subjects with grades 9-4 in English and Maths.  In terms of progress, the school is in the top 10% of providers nationally.  The College continues its strength in the English Baccalaureate, despite national trends, with 84.1% of students achieving grades 9-4 in all of its components.

Principal David Woods said:

“We are so proud of the performance of our students. Students had to access a large amount of their GCSE learning remotely and showed excellent resilience and adaptability.  These exceptional results show how well our students managed this challenge, but also showcase the brilliant work of our teachers to deliver the GCSE courses so well both remotely and back at school.”

"We are very much looking forward to welcoming our Year 11s into the Sixth Form to study the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in September.”

Particularly strong performances came from:

Esme Lawson who passed all ten of her GCSEs at Grade 9,

Iris Mamier, Summer Stevens who gained eight Grade 9s and two Grade 8s,

Alexis Beaumont and Sean Camp who gained seven Grade 9s and three Grade 8s.

A further 17 students gained at least eight grade 8s and 9s:

Tom Nguyen, Laurence Poles, Francis Dowell, Samaira Hasan, Benedek Payne, Luke Ricketts, Joel Smith, Noah Czajkowski, Dhillon Anoop, Eve Fraser, Esther Warrington, Alice Borman, Nataliya Cromie Angelina Marson, Matthew Parkinson, Joel Smith and Harry Spicer

Students’ hard work has really paid off and the College is especially proud of some other students who put in a great amount of effort to achieve grade 5 .or above, particularly in English and Maths.
