Exceptional performance from Year 11 GCSE students

Hockerill students are celebrating outstanding GCSE results today after a somewhat turbulent time for Year 11 students up and down the country.

Particularly strong performances came from:

Eleanor Hewins and Emma Troman – who achieved clean sweeps of their 10 subjects at the highest grade of 9.

Cai Chappel achieved nine 9s and one 8, Leila Trusty achieved nine 9s, one 8 and one 7, while Lucy Groves got eight 9s and three 8s. Harriet Dunne, Nicholas Petkov and Claudia Pettengell scored eight 9s and two 8s, Maisie Fraser achieved eight 9s, one 8 and one 7.

Another 14 Year 11s gained at least eight 8s and 9s: Lara Akhurst, Ben Brixton, Mia Byng, Amelie Campbell, Luke Hale, Patrick Feerick, Kate Hayward, Emily Howells, Aydan Hung, Tiffany Kan, Jakub Moudry, Adam Nichol, Katie Ochiltree and Cameron Street.

Acting Headteacher Sarah Pearson commented; “We are delighted with all our students and their outstanding results. They have studied hard and have also shown resilience during the Covid19 lockdown. GCSE results mark the end of a stage in these young people’s education and we are so proud of the way they have developed and responded to challenges as they worked towards this day.

We look forward to welcoming back our students to the Sixth form where they will be joined by new students from local, national and international schools, to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

Our thanks go to our committed staff, our parents and, most of all, to our students. Well done!"
