GCSE results success
Posted on: 22nd August 2019
Hockerill students are, once again, celebrating outstanding GCSE results. The Year 11 cohort performed exceptionally well and, in many cases, surpassed expectations. Members of staff were on site this morning to congratulate the students and to thank them and their families for their hard work and support. It is clear that the whole Hockerill community is very proud of our GCSE students.
Some outstanding results came from Toyin Odusan who passed all ten of her GCSEs at Grade 9, Olivia Boutell who achieved nine grade 9s and one grade 8, and Freya Tischowitz achieving nine grade 9s and two grade 8s. In addition, congratulations go to Anouk Allen-Mills, James Baird, Jemima Cromie, Emma Davis, Archie Fraser, Nilesh Gurumurthi, Ned Haslam, Lewis James, Jack Lyall, Scarlet Possnett, Annabel Readman, Olivia Waring and Lucy Womack who all gained at least eight grade 8s and 9s.
Head of Year 11, Faye Whiteley commented; “We are delighted with all our students and their outstanding results. Their contribution to the life of the College over the last five years has been exemplary. They have studied hard but have also shown independence and initiative with involvement in the wider community from charity work, sporting successes, Duke of Edinburgh Award, CCF, performance and so much more!
For the Hockerill community, this is a very exciting day and marks the beginning of a new school year. We look forward to welcoming back our students to the Sixth form where they will be joined by new students from local, national and international schools, to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
Our thanks go to our committed staff, our parents and, most of all, to our students for all of their hard work and commitment.
