Hockerill students are celebrating another strong set of results in the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme. The 115 Hockerill students gaining the IB Diploma this year achieved an overall points average of 35.4 against an International average of 29.6*.
The following 19 students made it on to the prestigious 40 points plus chart, which is equivalent to A*, A*, A*, A* at A level and in the top 9.7%* of IB Diploma students worldwide.
Choi Kiu Koo
Eleanor Annabelle Milton
Alexia Ricart Panova
plus Aneshka Moudry who scored 44 points, achieved by only 0.62%* of students worldwide
Acting Vice Principal Rhys Jones commented, " to students and staff as once again the College has exceeded global averages. We wish all our Year 13s well with their next steps and are delighted to see so many progressing on to their first choice of university. Well done!"
It is still early days in respect of University admissions so we will update this information around A level results day, but we can already see a good number going on to some of the top universities.
The results achieved are significantly above the global average for the Diploma, and Hockerill students join an elite group of approximately 4500 UK students achieving the Diploma.
*comparisons are based on 2019 worldwide diploma results, pre availability of 2020.
This year’s process will be carried out wholly online as the College will not be open owing to the continuing restrictions concerning the coronavirus. We will still be able to provide you with a full post-results service through working remotely.
When and how you obtain your results
On Monday 6 July you will be able to access your results online from 1345 hrs GMT onwards from https://candidates.ibo.org using your personal login details (personal code and PIN). Please check that you still have a record of your personal details; if you have misplaced them then contact Mrs Dewhurst on email@example.com as soon as possible and before July 6th.
The IB will send notification of student results (transcripts) to Universities, Colleges and Admission Centres in accordance with instructions submitted by the College on behalf of the candidates prior to the examination period.
If you would like to receive post-results advice on the IBDP Grades you have attained or on your University choices, then please use this link to contact us:
Once you have completed the form, you will receive a copy for your records as an acknowledgement that we have received your enquiry. Please be patient; a member of the Post-results Team will reply within 24 working hours via email or a telephone call in response to the query and contact information contained in your enquiry form. In the unlikely circumstances that you do not hear from us within 24 hours, then please telephone Reception.
Enquiries upon Results (EUR)
Historically, students have been able to request copies of their assessed scripts and/or a remark, obviously this year the situation is different. Please see the information in the Page Downloads below entitled Changes to EUR and Novemeber retakes.
If you wish to retake any subjects
Once you have communicated with the post-results Team, you may wish, or be advised to take resits in November. The form to enter you for resits can be found in the page downloads section below. The cost of any retakes will need to be paid through the Finance Department at Hockerill. All relevant details can be found on the form. Please note that we cannot submit any retakes to the IB until the College receives payment.
The IB despatches Diploma documents to arrive in College by the end of August. The documents will be posted to your home addresses. If you have recently moved but have not given the College your new home address, then please contact Mrs Dewhurst (firstname.lastname@example.org ). You should ensure that your Diploma documents are stored safely. In the event of loss, a fee (currently £49.00) is payable to the IB for a replacement.
