GCSE Results 2020
Exceptional performance from Year 11 students
Hockerill students are celebrating outstanding GCSE results today after a somewhat turbulent time for Year 11 students up and down the country.
Particularly strong performances came from:
Eleanor Hewins who passed all ten of her GCSEs at Grade 9,
Emma Troman who passed all nine at Grade 9;
Cai Chappel who achieved nine grade 9s and one grade 8;
Harriet Dunne, Maisie Fraser, Lucy Groves, Nicholas Petkov, and Leila Trusty who all achieved eight of their GCSEs at grade 9;
plus the following students who all gained at least eight grade 8s and 9s:
Lara Akhurst, Ben Brixton, Mia Byng, Amelie Campbell, Luke Hale, Kate Hayward, Emily Howells, Aydan Hung, Tiffany Kan, Jakub Moudry, Adam Nichol, Katie Ochiltree, Claudia Pettengell and Cameron Street.
Acting Headteacher Sarah Pearson commented; “We are delighted with all our students and their outstanding results. They have studied hard and have also shown resilience during the Covid19 lockdown. GCSE results mark the end of a stage in these young people’s education and we are so proud of the way they have developed and responded to challenges as they worked towards this day.
We look forward to welcoming back our students to the Sixth form where they will be joined by new students from local, national and international schools, to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
Our thanks go to our committed staff, our parents and, most of all, to our students. Well done!"
This year’s process will be carried out wholly online as the College is not open owing to the continuing restrictions concerning the Covid-19 virus. We will still be able to provide you with a full post-results service through working remotely.
