The Library
Our Library is a great resource for all the students with a good range of material available, staff are always available and happy to advise and we have lots of activities going on. It is open from 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday (Fridays before an exeat weekend or half term 8.00am to 5.00pm) and 8.00am to 1.00pm on Saturdays.

The Library uses a Library Management System called Oliver and has a wide range of stock for all age groups and abilities including fiction, non-fiction, audio books, DVDs, Quick Reads, newspapers & journals, foreign fiction, careers resources and a reference collection. JSTOR and other online resources are also available along with headphones* and chess sets* and other games*. Stock is regularly reviewed for age group suitability. Resources not in stock may be obtained via inter-lending arrangements.
Years 7 - 9 are able to borrow 1 DVD & 4 Standard Loans
Years 10 - 11 are able to borrow 1 DVD & 6 Standard Loans
Years 12 - 13 & Staff are able to borrow 1 DVD & 8 Standard Loans
DVDs are loaned for 3 days & Standard Loans for 21 days. Renewals & reservations are available.The Library adheres to the British Board of Film Classification when loaning DVDs to students.
There are no fines for overdue items but there will be a charge for the non-return or damage of resources.
Year 12 receive an induction session in the Library at the beginning of term in September and research skills sessions later in the year, including how to access our JSTOR subscription, to help with extended essay research. There is a full programme of Library Lessons for Key Stage 3. Year 6 students attending our New Students Morning in June take part in a Treasure Hunt to familiarise themselves with the Library layout. There are Book Boxes in each Form Room* and we encourage students to become Library Monitors. Sixth Formers can earn CAS hours by helping in the Library before and after College. There is also an active range of clubs and events run by the library staff.
