Hockerill tops Sunday Times Parent Power rankings
Posted on: 27th November 2017
Yesterday the Sunday Times published its annual Parent Power Guide (2018) in which Hockerill Anglo-European College was ranked first in the state comprehensive tables. An accomplishment which the College is particularly proud of as the recognition covers both IB Diploma and GCSE results.
The guide highlighted Hockerill’s performance in its editorial: “Hockerill Anglo-European College in Bishop’s Stortford — selective for just 10% of its intake — achieves an astonishing performance in this year’s state school rankings with a rise of 30 places on last year, after nearly two-thirds of all higher level IB exams were graded 7 or 6, the highest two awards.”
The analysis is undertaken by the Sunday Times and encompasses state and independent schools, primary and secondary education and all the leading examination systems — A-levels, GCSE, IGCSE, international baccalaureate, and Pre-U and goes on to identify “the 2,000 highest-achieving schools in the UK, ranked by their recent examination results”.
Principal of Hockerill Anglo-European College, Richard Markham, was in jubilant spirits “I am delighted that the hard work and effort of our staff and students has been publicly acknowledged. This is a wonderful accolade for all those associated with the College and I am exceptionally proud of the College’s amazing success”.
