Oxford and Cambridge Success
Posted on: 3rd February 2017
The College is pleased to be able to congratulate five students who have received offers to study at Oxford and Cambridge from September 2017.
Henry Walton and Celestya Riva are heading to Cambridge to Churchill to read Computer Science and King’s College to read Human, Social and Political Sciences respectively. Offers for Oxford have been made to Abigail Dallas (St Hilda’s) to read French, Milly Lynch (Christ Church) to read Philosophy, Politics & Economics and Fatimah Shekoni (Queens’) to read Chemistry.
Principal, Mr Markham commented “The College is delighted that so many of our students who chose to make an application to Oxford and Cambridge have been successful. It is important to recognise the work and commitment they have shown and to congratulate them on their success in attaining an offer. The IB Diploma Programme is a demanding post-16 qualification which is recognised and respected by universities around the world. It is heartening to see that the top UK universities welcome IB Diploma students and give them offers which are fair and in line with A level offers.”
In addition to this the College had a number of students placed in the Cambridge pool, which means that they were considered serious candidates who came very close to being made an offer and they should be very proud of having made it so far – as should all of the students who were selected for interview. The College is delighted to see so many students considering Oxbridge and in the position to make such strong applications.
